BSV City Tour – Discover Bremen on FootItem Link
Meeting Point: in front of the Dorint City-Hotel Bremen (Hillmannplatz)
Time: Saturday, 24th May, 9:00 am
As part of the BSV Congress, we invite all students and trainees to join a guided walking tour through the historic heart of Bremen.
Led by students for students, the tour offers a relaxed and informative way to explore the city. Along the way, you’ll visit well-known landmarks and learn a bit about Bremen’s history, culture, and hidden stories.
Highlights include:
– the Bremen Town Musicians and the UNESCO-listed Town Hall
– the Spitting Stone
– the narrow alleys of the historic Schnoor quarter and many more.
The tour will be held in English, with German translation available if needed. The walking distance is approximately 3.7 km, with a total duration of around 1.5 to 2 hours, including stops and explanations.
The tour ends back at the Congress venue, so you’ll have plenty of time to continue with the days program. No registration required – just be there on time and join in!

LITMUS tools for bilingual language assessment in GermanyItem Link

Description: In this presentation, we report of the results of two longitudinal projects probing the German versions of the LITMUS sentence and nonword repetition tasks with diverse groups of monolingual and bilingual children with carefully verified clinical status (see Hamann & Abed Ibrahim, 2017), discuss methodological issues and draw implications for clinical and educational practices in Germany.

Description: The field of speech and language therapy (SLT) offers more opportunities for international engagement than one might initially think. Engaging with other academic institutions, cultures and healthcare systems can provide valuable insights that go beyond the borders of one's own country.
In this series of lectures, three speech therapists will talk about study or research stays abroad that have broadened their professional and academic horizons. The presentations will highlight the diverse opportunities that such experiences bring, from gaining new perspectives for clinical practice to exploring innovative research ideas in international contexts. This will be followed by an exchange on the diverse opportunities and the chance to ask questions.
